Family FavoriteMost Lake Travis shoreline is rocky limestone. Point Venture's beach area is one of very few sandy spots on the entire lake — a genuine advantage for families with children. Summer RitualThe community's lakefront shoreline holds bass, sunfish, and catfish year-round. Local anglers on 2Cool Fishing Forum: "I only use ultra light tackle there — Rooster Tails and tiny Torpedos — enough to catch 20 or so fish in short order." After 8 AM, boat traffic starts and the fishing drops off. TX fishing license required for ages 17+.
Local TipZebra mussels are present on every submerged surface in Lake Travis. Their sharp shells cause serious cuts to bare feet and legs.
